A NIGHT OF ART FEATURING
TUTU‘ by EWA BATHELIER
THURSDAY 14th MARCH
6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
GRACE BELGRAVIA
11c WEST HALKIN STREET
LONDON SW1X 8JL
The fabulous textures and pastel hues of her paintings result in elegant style of sublimated minimalism that only vaguely hints at decoration.
Ewa Bathelier is freewheeling in her choice of colors and angles; yet an identity runs across this cohort of fladened phantoms, one of which even embraces, with a wink, a bust’s curves. There are not necessarily “noble” and “lowly” materials but in her classical treatment there is no dazzling showiness or provocafon : brilliance comes from within.
Ewa Bathelier seems physically present in each of her dresses, with changing physiognomies. Among the abstraction-mongers of our forme, this artist ranks high; her work has the added quality of electrifying at the plexus level.
