Star
A model of a great stellated icosiedodecahedron fabricated by hand from common galvanized steel framing. Geometric concepts as material are important within my work, this model presents a slice in its pure form.
Moby Dick
A companion piece to Star; this work is made from sheet lead, epdm rubber membrane, powder-coated grommets; and folded Japanese paper. In this piece I am marrying a turgid thing with something delicate.
Projection Modules 1 & 2
These 2 companion pieces are semi-private works only exhibited once before as an installation / performance held in an empty storefront in west Harlem NYC early 2015.
In lieu of utilizing the wide spread of digital technologies available, I decided to revisit my personal collection of slides. My collection includes approximately 300 images culled from various sources — photos taken during urban walks of various U.S. cities in the last decade; found slides of early performances held at PS1; images of various European capitals; maps; advertising imagery; art historical images; as well as various miscellany.
