There is a process of thought and aesthetic organization Alexis Zambrano goes through prior to beginning his paintings. Zambrano coordinates his ideas through collage, painting and Photoshop using found objects and enamels to plot his compositions. He later refers to these compositions to create his vibrant, often three-dimensional work. The artist’s work references old masters, architecture, contemporary art and pop culture constructing surreal and magical out of scale characters juxtaposed in altered settings.
