Village of Merrick Park announces partnership with Galleria Ca’ d’Oro with “Tempo Senza Tempo” featuring the Art of Enzo Carnebianca.

On Thursday April 5^th, the Village of Merrick Park and Galleria Ca` d’Oro will unveil “Time without Time” a solo exhibition of the sculpture of Italian artist Enzo Carnebianca.   This exhibition inaugurates a partnership between Merrick Park and Ca` d’Oro for an on-going presentation of public artwork to be enjoyed in the beautiful center garden area.

Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason and Italian Consul General Adolfo Barattolo will be present bringing into focus the vibrant “south side” of Coral Gables.   Kerem Kayser, General Manager of Merrick Park, and Gloria Porcella, owner of Galleria Ca` d’Oro, will welcome the artist, Enzo Carnebianca, who is here from Rome for the occasion.

Galleria Ca` d’Oro is an art gallery based in Rome whose Miami Branch is just across Ponce from Merrick Park.  Galleria Ca’ d’Oro opened in December 2010 in Miami with the unforgettable Pink Snails.  The proximity of the Italian Consulate in the Collection Building on Ponce, and Merrick Park form an alternative area in Coral Gables rich with possibilities for visitors and residents alike.

About the artist:

Italian artist Lorenzo Carnebianca lives and works in Rome.  His style has been identified as an intriguing surrealism, his half-divine beings recall both past times and future ones, expressing a knowledge of western cultures reminiscent of folk memories of lost civilizations.  He has authored some unforgettable works that can be found in prestigious public and private collections around the world, including the Vatican, which features 4 of his works in their “eternal” collection along with Italian masters Michangelo, Rafaello, Donatello, Canova.

MIAMI, FL, Dec. 29th, 2011 – Gloria Porcella, a longtime Curator and co-owner of Galleria Ca d’Oro in Coral Gables announces she will be hosting an Art Opening at Planet Fiat, which is located at 9975 NW 12th Street, Miami, on January 12, 2012, featuring up and coming artist Monica Casali’s Pop Art, which some describe as eclectic, exuberant and cultural. The event will showcase the New Fiat 500’s along Casali’s “IS IT ART OR A CAR?”

“For me the Fiat Car is a work of art itself. It was my inspiration to do something classic yet fun. Planet Fiat was the perfect place to host my exhibition – after all is it Art or is it just a car?” said Monica Casali who will be arriving from Rome to Miami for exhibition. Claudio Longobucco, Fiat Specialist is excited about the upcoming event and says “to introduce our cars with style and grace to Miami using art as the vehicle is fun and unique!”

Gloria Porcella, host of the event, is just as eager to showcase Monica’s artwork. “I love Monica’s paintings! They are like Italian dresses filled with joyful colors. Her unique European style helps us to understand why the Fiat became so popular in Italy. My favorite Monica-designed Fiat is the red 500, colored like a Ferrari in a gold background!” says an excited Gloria Porcella. To critics, her work is Pop Art reinterpreted, “Italia-Style”.

Currently, Porcella is also exhibiting the multi-tiered project ‘The Wind Doesn’t Have a Plan’ in collaboration with young urban artists Fabio La Fauci and Daniele Sigalot, who are Blue & Joy, which can be seen at Miami Dade College’s historic Freedom Tower until January 4, 2012. This exhibit will be open through the Holidays. The story of Blue & Joy has a deep message of outward emotion vs. inner emotion. Looking at Blue’s outer expression of tears and a broken heart, he is in fact extremely happy inside and shouting for ‘joy.’ While, ironically, Joy who shows a bright smile, is very unhappy and feeling ‘blue.’ “The exhibit demonstrates our daily lives showing an outer face but feeling completely different inside,” says Porcella. The artwork of the Italian artists showcases paintings, sculptures, mosaic, photography and digital media, as well as large paper planes sculpted in aluminum, which can be seen at the Freedom Tower.

Gloria began her career in Italy as a Councilor for the city of Rome and worked with the Environmental Minister, where she developed her magnificent talent and organized a range of significant exhibitions including an important tribute to Pope John Paul II in Rome. Gloria’s passion for art grew from renaissance to contemporary – “I love pop art, the bright colors are so vibrant and full of joy,” said Porcella with a smile. Today, her exhibitions are not only popular in Europe, but they have crossed waters to the United States and landed in New York, Los Angeles and now Miami.

Standing out in Miami’s vibrant art scene, the European curator brought a fabulous display of unforgettable giant pink snails to the city of Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami 2010. Towering at eight-feet tall, the giant pink snails then slowly inched their way to the beautiful city of Coral Gables, where Galleria Ca d’Oro, which has been passed on from generation to generation in the Porcella family, opened its doors during Art Basel Miami in December 2010.

The brightly colored snails symbolize an eco-friendly environment. Made with recyclable plastic, the intention is to make the people of Miami stop, look and think about a healthy, vibrant and bright environment. “Everybody loves the snails. They are most popular among the children,” says Porcella, co-owner of Galleria Ca d’Oro, who worked with the international Cracking Art Group in bringing the famous pink snails to Miami.

This beautiful public display of Italian contemporary art is the inspiration behind Gloria Porcella’s drive to introduce Miami’s art scene to the unknown artistic talent of Italy. “When I see something I love, I want to share it with everyone, and art in public places is the best way to do that,” says the talented Porcella.

Born and raised in Italy under the influence of the Renaissance period, Gloria Porcella, co-owner of Galleria Ca d’Oro, has been in love with art since she was a child. Surrounded by Italian masters Filippo de Pisis and Giorgio de Chirico, who worked with her father, Antonio Porcella and her grandfather, Amadore Porcella, Gloria grew up with a strong background in the art culture.

Remember how to fold a piece of paper into an airplane? And then send it flying across your classmates’ heads to create a moment of fun and laughter? This season, step out and see what’s happening along Brickell Avenue!

Paper Planes, fashioned from sheets of aluminum, line the street, as part of “The Wind doesn’t have a plan,” an exhibition of art in public places designed especially for the people of Miami by artists Blue & Joy.

In addition to the Public Art display, the exhibition includes a display of art in Miami Dade College’s Freedom Tower, and a “mobile” display, FIAT 500 cars wrapped in the artists designs that will zip people back and forth from ArtBasel in Miami Beach, to MDC’s Freedom Tower and down to Brickell and back again.

Galleria Ca’d’Oro is behind the project working with Stella Holmes, Founder of Brickell Gallery Night, Miami Dade College, and the Arts & Entertainment Council of the City of Miami. Galleria Ca’ d’Oro opened in December 2010 in Miami with the debut in the US of the Cracking Art Group and their unforgettable Pink Snails. This year, Galleria Ca’ d’Oro makes Miami the first stop in the USfor European artistic group Blue & Joy.

Blue & Joy is the name of the group, and the name of two characters created by Italians Fabio La Fauci and Daniele Sigalot. They worked at Saatchi & Saatchi in Milan, London and Barcelona until 2008, when they started their own studio in Berlin called “La Pizzeria.” Their urban style, catchy narrative and sense of irony and has caught the eye of collectors as they take Europe by storm.

Cloned goats and dogs radiate red and yellow. Folds of dresses in mauve, mint-green and pink suggest movement and exhibit a fanciful frivolity. Sweetlove thrives on the superficial, placing it in razor-sharp contrast to the sententious. Through a number of variations on the same theme he creates friction between the artificial and the substantial, completely obliterating the boundaries between toy and work of art in certain of his works. His is a world in which poodles, giraffes and penguins are rendered into artefacts which unite dadaism, surrealism and pop art in a common post-modernistic synthesis. William Sweetlove was born in 1949 in Ostende, Belgium. Since 2003 he has been a member of the artists’ collective “The Cracking Art Group” in northern Italy. As the physical medium that provides the basis for their works of art, the members use a type of plastic produced via a thermo-chemical reaction in crude oil. This reaction, known as “cracking” is also the origin of the group’s name. In their manifesto the Cracking Art Group call upon their members to spread a vision of the world suffused with elements of irony and ecological awareness.To those, Sweetlove adds the conviction that art must also be an antidote to overconsumption and overproduction. His paintings, sculptures and assemblages are his impressions of existence reproduced in materials such as polyester, animal hides and textiles. William Sweetlove shapes his own world.

- Galleria Ca’ d’Oro opened its doors 10 months ago and now brings its first photography exhibition to Miami. Featuring Consul General Marco Rocca as artist, this exhibition opens with a reception on the 26th October at 7:00pm. The event coincides with the end of Rocca’s second assignment to Miami as Consul General of Italy. He established the Miami Consulate in 1992 and then moved on to other diplomatic postings in Spain and Panama before returning to Miami in 2007. Owner of the Rome based gallery Ca’ d’Oro Gloria Porcella selected Coral Gables as the home of the gallery’s newest branch in part because of its proximity to the Italian consulate. Gloria put together a unique show as an opportunity to say farewell to Consul General Rocca on the eve of his departure, bringing in other high-ranking professionals who are also photographers in their private lives. The ensemble is as much about the people behind the works as the works themselves: Joining Marco Rocca, are CEO of Gucci Watch, Michele Sofisti, and Culture Editor of the Rome newspaper Il Messaggero, Gloria Satta. Sofisti will donate proceeds from eventual sales to Machik, a nonprofit organization working to develop new opportunities for education capacity- building and innovation on the Tibetan plateau.

And, of course, it is all “Made in Italy” and brought to you by Ca’ d’Oro.

Committed to bringing Italian art to the U.S., Galleria Ca’ d’ Oro will highlight Camilla Ancilotto’s Original Sin Sculpture and other art works this September. Ancilotto has skillfully united traditional pictorial techniques with interactive elements found in a certain type of contemporary art. Using lively and playful images and colors, she invites the viewer to participate both physically and thoughtfully while viewing her work.

Mounted on a steel frame, hand crafted parallelepipeds and prisms are finished with a stucco surface to which the pigments of oil paint can adhere. Each element rotates to interweave images and shapes gathered from the illustrious repertoire of Italian art history. Emerging in an exultation of color, the reinterpretation of Michelangelo’s Last Judgment comes forth, or a detail from the Sistine Chapel, or a masterpiece by Bronzino or Tiziano; each piece revealing Camilla’s distinct and masterful talent and full command of classic artistic technique. Contemporary icons are also present and never overlooked: some pieces feature President Barack Obama or a reference to James Cameron’s Avatar.

The spectator plays an essential role in releasing the aesthetic phenomenon as he or she actively collaborates in the creation of the image by rotating the parallelepipeds. In the continuing metamorphoses of images, from man to woman to animal and even plant, we can intuit a reference to the timeless struggle between man and nature. In the end, it is the viewer who decides if the human or natural element prevails in the composition, or if an agreement will finally be reached between them in a cosmic fusion of a primary oneness.

Camilla teaches us that reality is not absolute but rather is constantly changing. The foundation upon which we have built our assumptions crumbles and we witness new scenes that inspire reflection giving us the possibility to observe the world from new perspectives. Each of Camilla Ancilotto’s masterpieces is many works in one, a dialogue open to imagination and wonder. Guests will enjoy Camilla’s sculptures and interactivity at Galleria Ca’ d’ Oro’s opening night reception. In true Italian style, Italian wines and light bites will be passed.

Biography: Camilla Ancilotto was born in Rome, Italy on October 14, 1970; she currently lives and work in Rome and Tuscany. In 1993 she began four years of study of art and design at the Institute of Design in Rome and at the School of Ornamental Art in Rome. During her studies she partecipated in a number of student group shows in Rome. In 1997 she came to New York City to study at the New York Academy of Art where she received her MFA. In New York, she partecipated in a group show at the Atmosphere gallery in Chelsea, and passed a competition to exhibit her figurative work at Studio 4 West. She returned to Rome in 2001 and in 2002 she partecipated in the first annual National Competition for Artists at the Baronale di Fondi Castle, where she took fourth prize. In February 2003 she had her first solo show in Rome at the Ca’ d’Oro gallery, Rome. Later in that year, the gallery presented her painting Venus Reclining at the spring show of A.R.G.A.M. – The Association of Roman Contemporary Art Galleries. In March 2004, her work appeared at the triennal show of young artists, the GAI di Vercelli, in Santa Chiara. Her work was exhibited in two group shows in 2006 at the Ca’ d’Oro gallery, the first entitled Bestiario which featured some of the top young artists of Italy, and the second entitled Homage to Rembrand 1606/2006 where her work was featured among the leading artists of Italy including Calabria, Kokocinsky and Guarienti. In 2008 she was invited to show her work at the Davico gallery, Turin. In 2009 her work appeared in two exhibits at the Palazzo Torlonia in Rome entitled Decompositions and Homage to de Chirico, Ca’ d’Oro gallery, Rome. The exhibit Homage to de Chirico, Ca’ d’Oro gallery, Rome, travelled to America in 2010 where it appeared in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. In 2011 she exhibited her work Il peccato originale at the first Biennial of Sculpture in Rome, alongside great artists such as Manzu, de Chirico, Dalì and many others.

An exhibition displaying Mona Lisa’s finest variations

MIAMI, FL (AUGUST 2011) – Miami Dade College (MDC), the City of Miami, Galleria Ca’ d’Oro and the City of Margherita di Savoia will bring the debut of Mona Lisa Unveiled to MDC’s Freedom Tower.  From Margherita di Savoia to Miami, the recently rediscovered 16^th century painting, Nude Mona Lisa by Salai, Da Vinci’s favorite pupil is moving overseas.

Mona Lisa Unveiled will highlight a long list of artists’ interpretations of the world’s most famous portrait, from the sixteenth-century to present day.  Today they are all collected in this unique, never before displayed exhibition that aims to document and compare the many versions of the Mona Lisa in the world.

The thread linking Margherita di Savoia, Leonardo Da Vinci and Miami, is one of originality and experimentation, a point of strength in the connection between the two cities. This is essentially the same guiding thread that has been leading Galleria Ca’d’Oro for the past 40 years and that more recently has encountered the ingenuity of Mayor Gabriella Carlucci and the sponsors who sustained this initiative, conceived and inspired by the innovative spirit of the forward-looking Leonardo da Vinci.  A special note of appreciation must go to Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, President of Miami Dade College, for hosting this groundbreaking exhibition at the heart of downtown Miami’s iconic landmark, the Freedom Tower.

Galleria Ca’ d’Oro Art is backing the Mona Lisa Unveiled in Miami as part of its mission to bring Italian art to the U.S.  This exhibition has special meaning to Gloria Porcella, Director of Galleria Ca’ d’Oro, since her grandfather, Amadore Porcella, had studied the origins and possible attributions of the Nude Gioconda during his career as art critic for L’Osservatore Romano, the newspaper of the Vatican.

Gloria maintains her family’s interest regarding this important piece and has been fundamental in selecting Miami as its first stop outside of Italy.  Further, she has ensured that new artists are involved in the many reinterpretations that you will see in this exciting exhibition.

Margherita di Savoia is a seaside resort located along Italy’s Adriatic coast. At the exhibition opening, Mayors Regalado & Carlucci will sign a Sister City Agreement between the two cities.

The exhibition, free of charge, opens to the general public on August 26^th and will remain open until October. There will be a private, invitation-only reception on August 25^th at 6:30 p.m. at the Freedom tower where the exhibit will remain.

On Friday, April 15, 2011, Francesco Lopez will host a cocktail reception at Galleria Ca’ d’Oro Miami with the US showing of his most recent work “Visioni di Roma.” The gallery will feature various contemporary photographs, each of which were created using familiar imagery, realism and nature – all inspired by Lopez’s love of Rome.

Galleria Ca’ d’Oro was the perfect location to showcase this collection, “Visioni di Roma”, as the gallery’s main objective is to highlight and showcase Italian & European art to the US. Gloria Porcella and her business partner, Lamberto Petrecca, both will curate Lopez’s show. “The title of Francesco’s art show, ‘Visions of Rome’ compounds two loves. Love for a city, Rome, which no longer is a ‘physical’ place but becomes, in his work, an archetype of constant regeneration, and, precisely because of it, remains equal to itself across the time, becoming a category of the Spirit. Therefore not “a” city but “the” City.” – Lamberto Petrecca on Lopez’s “Visioni di Roma.”

Since the beginning of his career, Lopez has used photography to complement his art and with it he brings to life a composition, geometry, as well as details in which all these components transform an authentic emotion into a look that knows how to capture the essences of things in the particulars of reality. Inspired by a visit to the Coliseum in Rome and using his beloved Leica camera, Francesco Lopez created “Visioni di Roma.”

Among the 22 pieces in the collection of “Visioni di Roma,” one of Lopez’s favorite works is “Roman Graffiti,” a photograph measuring 90 x 120 cm. Lopez was inspired and loved the graffiti and combination of colors that he found on the side of an old Roman wall. This he feels is his tribute to one of his favorite painters, Jackson Pollock. This piece captures the essence of nature and Lopez as an artist. Lopez strongly believes “everything already exists in nature, even so great a work as the one done by Pollock.”

Francesco Lopez is a renowned architect and interior designer known throughout Europe and quickly making a name for himself throughout the United States. Lopez has always had an ardor for art and has been using photography as an expression of his art since he was at the university in Rome. He studied and graduated with a degree in architecture, never formally studying art. “I believe that you don’t need to study art to be an artist. Art is the expression of what you have in your soul” – Francesco Lopez.

Biography: Francesco Lopez, Architect and Interior Designer, was born in Rome in 1951. He has executed major projects internationally, in the main European cities, the Middle East and the Far East. Since beginning his career, he has used photography to complement his art, and with it he brings to life a composition, a geometry, as well as details in which all these components transform an authentic emotion into a look that knows how to capture the essence of things in the particulars of reality.
In his artistic works one can see the capability of the emotion-hunter, who, at the instant of a shot, catches and releases the moment of the flow of life, creativity in its most immediate sense. The artistic subject, the architectonic detail, are both extracted and observed in several different versions, chromatic repetitions, geometrical abstractions in which the world of reality merges into that of the imaginary, and the imagination plays the main role in moving objects close to elements which are completely unrelated to one another.

This expressive technique uses the crystallization of bright colors wrapped in a visual language that transforms the artist’s emotions into structures of pure color.
This is why his works move and surprise the spectator, in a sort of fusion of artistic genres that can produce a strong emotional impact; his is an artistic path that regenerates itself in a continuous exchange among art forms.

Laura Cianfoni, an architect and designer who has long collaborated with the artist, participated in the creation of several of his works.

Eclectic, exuberant and cultured are tha adjectives which best sum up the pictorial output of tha artist Monica Casali.

Her work is distinguished by a constant need for experimentation which is rewarded by fruitful work.

Casali is a young painter who loves innovation.

She aims to put herself to the test and move towards the unknown, revisiting several areas in international painting’s recent past.

She digresses with enthusiasm, brio and technical knoledge from the figurative to the abstract, from the colourless picture which takes on an almost serigraphic effect to a material clarity which detects and celebrates the intrinsic quality of materials and props used.

The themes are also inferred from several key moments of twentieth-century painting: from Pop Art reinterpreted “Italian- style” with a series dedicated to the legendary home-bred Vespa ( at the moment 60 pictures, all unique and numbered) or the world wide famous Fiat 500 , to informal and abstract, more intimist displays.

The works of Casali remind us of the surprisingly insatiable and intelligently curious nature of the artist’s being.

The Galleria Ca’ d’Oro, one of Rome’s most respected contemporary art galleries, announce the opening of a new Branch in Miami during Art Basel. The mission is to exhibit the leading Italian contemporary artists.

The Galleria Ca’ d’Oro in association with the Cracking Art Group have successfully completed the installation of the Pink Snails exhibition, and their animal friends in celebration of the Regeneration Project to promote environmental awareness in South Florida. The exhibition, curated by Gloria Porcella and Lamberto Petrecca has received international acclaim from the press and praise from the the City of Miami Beach.

On December 4th 2010, Galleria Ca’ d’Oro will open its new gallery in Coral Gables, where they will feature a number of other animals, including turtles, and alligators, and the latest work of Renzo Nucara, the senior founding member of the Cracking Art Collective.

Miami Beach, FL (November 30th, 2010)— The Galleria Ca’d’Oro, one of Rome’s most respected contemporary art galleries, announces the Miami Beach premier of the REgeneration Art Project. An international sensation, this engaging public art series by the renowned artistic collective Cracking Art Group uses sculptural art forms to encourage awareness of important environmental issues. For the North American debut, Galleria Ca’ d’Oro and Cracking Art Group have placed 45 pink snails—26 measuring 8ft tall, 6ft wide and 11 ft long and another 20 snails measuring 3ft tall, 2.5ft wide and 4ft long, every one made of recyclable plastic—throughout the city. This playful presentation is designed to inspire a community-wide conversation about the importance of recycling and its environmental impact, while stimulating an artistic trace on the Miami Beach area.

The installation and exhibition of the Pink Snails continues through to January 2011.

“Recycling is so much a part of the culture now that it’s easy to forget how important it is and that we can always do more. This fun art project will make people stop and wonder—and then stop and think,” says Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower. Anchored by sand for durability, the Pink Snails represent an aesthetically pleasing, ethically responsible installation, which has captured the community’s imagination, and will inspire public and private arts collaborations for years to come.

The Snails—a symbol of nature have been created in an exclusive color, from plastic recyclable material with a minimal carbon footprint—for a variety of metaphorical reasons: First, they call to mind the sense of hearing, as its shape resembles the human ear. Second, they allude to the concept of housing, since the snail carries its house and is virtually enclosed in it when necessary. Third, it evokes the inspiration to enjoy life at a “slower” pace. The Pink Snails have been produced as a limited arts edition, and an acquisition of a Pink Snail Sculpture offers a unique investment opportunity with a strong social and environmental message.

Galleria Ca’ d’Oro was originally established in 1970 by Antonio Porcella, the son of Amadore Porcella, one of the most important art critics of the period and the grandson of Alpinolo Porcella, a personal friend of great Italian Masters like Filippo de Pisis and Giorgio de Chirico. Today—four generations later—Gloria Porcella and her business partner, Lamberto Petrecca, lead the gallery. La Galleria Ca’ d’Oro, una de las más respetadas galerías de arte contemporáneo de Roma, anuncia la apertura de una nueva Sede en Miami durante Art Basel. Su misión es exponer la obra de los artistas italianos líderes en el arte contemporáneo.

La Galleria Ca’ d’Oro en asocio con Cracking Art Group ha realizado con éxito el montaje de la exposición Caracoles Rosados y sus amigos animales celebrando el Proyecto Regeneración para promover la conciencia ambiental en el Sur de Florida. Los caracoles—son un símbolo de la naturaleza y han sido creados en este color rosado, a partir de material plástico reciclado con una impresión minimal de carbón—por una variedad de razones metafísicas: primero, evocan el sentido del oído, ya que su forma se asemeja a la oreja humana. Segundo, aluden al concepto de casa, pues el caracol carga su propio hogar y virtualmente se incrusta en él cuando es necesario. Tercero, evoca la invitación a disfrutar de la vida a un ritmo más “lento”. Los Caracoles rosados son una producción en edición limitada y adquirir una de las esculturas de Caracoles Rosados le brinda una oportunidad única de inversión con un fuerte mensaje social y ambiental.
