MIAMI : Galleria Ca D’oro in collaboration with Luxury Living, the exclusive retailer of Fendi Casa, presents A NIGHT OF ART + DESIGN, featuring the recent art work of Italian Grammy award winner songwriter and artist Alfredo Rapetti Mogol and the sculptures of Salvador Dali. The reception will be held at Fendi Casa located at 90 NE 39^th Street Miami, FL 33137 this Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 7pm-9pm.

Alfredo Rapetti Mogol, world-famous lyricist (winner of numerous Grammy Awards for his song lyrics) and one who has collaborated, also at intellectual level, with some of the greatest musicians, sees in his paintings a unification of words, image and music, his three greatest passions. The paintings become a visualisation of a mental and psychological process. Thanks to a special technique known as impuntura (stitching), the action of painting merges with the act of writing. His works are created on canvas and paper coated with a thick layer of cement, bitumen and acrylic, which acts as a three-dimensional material support for the scoring of marks, traces and graffiti.

The great surrealist artist, Dali, needs no introduction. For his iconic style and genius is famous worldwide. The Dali sculptures showcased in this exhibition have been displayed in famous cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Singapore, Florence, New York, Shanghai and now, Miami. This is a rare and unique occasion to view an enthralling collection which attests to Dalí’s talent and his untamed imagination; it offers the general public a surreal and unique experience.

“I love collaborating with other organizations. We believe that art should be seen not only in museums and galleries, but also in spaces that engage in different activities, such as Fendi Casa. Alfred Rapetti Mogol is one of the artists discovered by Galleria Ca’d’Oro. We held his first solo show in our gallery in Rome in 2003 and now we introduce his work to Miami. This will be his first debut in the U.S.” says Gloria Porcella, curator and co-director of Galleria Ca’d’Oro | Miami. “We are once again proud to discover great talent and happy to make Miami part of it. Alfredo Rapetti Mogol now forms part of the most important Italian Art collections.”

About Alfredo Rapetti Mogol:

Alfredo Rapetti Mogol was born in Milan in 1961 and his artistic education owed much to the family background, in which an air of music, literature and poetry had been breathed for generations. While still very young, Rapetti Mogol was introduced by his maternal grandfather, Alfredo De Pedrini, President of the Graphic Arts Association, into the artistic milieu of Milan. He conceived a passion for painting, with which he combined training at the Milan Cartoon School as well as publishing activities. He experimented with various styles of painting, resulting in an invitation in 1966 to join the studio of the artists Alessandro Algardi and Mario Arlati, and to share in their pictorial research. In the atelier in Via Nota, Rapetti worked intensely for four years, gradually coming to the conviction that he would have to unite his two greatest passions, writing and painting, positing them as visualisations of the mental and psychological process. With the aid of a special technique known as impuntura (stitching), the action of painting is fused with the act of writing, and the words begin to be marked not just on paper, but also on canvas.

The marks, signs, traces and graffiti of a creative and conscious humanity – Rapetti Mogol’s works follow the ideal path of pictorial script: – the more universal it is, the more breaks into splinters and challenges centuries of art history, from the historic Avant-garde to Conceptualism, by way of the Spatialist experiments of Lucio Fontana and the abstract writings of the 1950s

Once he had found a form of expression congenial to his poetic vision, there was no stopping him. A veritable explosion of exhibitions, both solo and collective, have been held since the late 1990s and the artist, as indefatigable as his work, constantly flits between Italy and the rest of the world – universal, indeed. His most notable exhibitions were held at the Museo della Permanente, Milan, 2002, the Salon d’Automne Paris, Espace Charenton in November 2004, the Mars Contemporary Art Gallery, Moscow, Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, the Riga Foreign Art Museumand the Grand Palais, Paris, with the show “Comparaisons”. Among solo shows worth mentioning were those at the Galleria Cà d’Oro in Roma, 2003, the KPMG Foundation of Berlin, in the same year, the Galleria Maretti Arte Monaco in Montecarlo and Villa Olmo, Como, in 2004, L’Albergo delle Povere di Palermo, in 2005, and in the following year at the Certosa di San Lorenzo, Padula, Salerno. In 2009, 80 of his works were exhibited at the Palazzo della Ragione, Mantua. In 2010, under the aegis of the De Chirico Foundation, he exhibited in three prestigious US museums and universities, including New York University and the Santa Monica Sculpture Gallery, and he held a one-man-show at the Mudima Foundation in Milan.

FOREVERGLADES – William Sweetlove & Cracking Art Group @ Freedom Tower

Galleria Ca D’oro is pleased to present FOREVERGLADES an environmentally minded public art exhibition by International Artists William Sweetlove and artists collective, Cracking Art Group. Presented in partnership with Miami Dade’s College Museum of Art + Design and famed Swiss watchmaker Girard-Perregaux, FOREVERGLADES will open with a public reception on Friday, November 30^th, at 7pm at MDC’s historic Freedom Tower. The exhibition will run through Saturday, January 26^th, 2013.

FOREVERGLADES, an interior and exterior installation in the public realm, establishes a locally conscious perspective focusing on environmental protection, sustainability, and advocacy of South Florida’s National Parks and Preserves. An exhibition unlike anything else of its kind, FOREVERGLADES will encompass a presentation of 300 animals made out of recyclable plastic, resin, and aluminum, native of South Florida, including three specific regional species: native alligators, sea turtles, and frogs literally crawling up, down and around Miami Dade College’s nationally historic building – a feat never before attempted on the famed structure. For the European-based artists, William Sweetlove and Cracking Art Group, the animals were researched and selected for the important role each play in the development and history of our local landscape.

Accompanying the exhibition, the museum in partnership with the MDC Earth Ethics Institute, US National Parks Conservation Association, Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, Dry Tortugas National Park and Big Cypress Preserve will present: FOREVERGLADES: here today, hopeful for tomorrow, a one-day educational symposium on Friday, November 30^th at the MDC Freedom Tower. The one-day event will feature panel discussions, exhibitions, and performances focusing on the education of advocacy for our fragile South Florida landscape and how artists seek unique ways to present the message. The future may be unknown for the Florida Everglades, but FOREVERGLADES is a true testament to how artists use art to create public awareness for the world we compromise in hopes it will exist forever.

Additional support for FOREVERGLADES is provided by the Consulate General of Italy, Consulate General of Belgium, Consulate General of France, Gulliver Preparatory School and the Biscayne Nature Center. The official opening event for “2013, Year of Italian Culture in the US,” will also take place during the opening of FOReverglades with the patronage of the Consulate General of Italy in Miami and the European Ministry of the Environment.

“Italy is well known for its cuisine, fashion, and design. With this initiative we aim to demonstrate that Italy also has talent in the field of contemporary art. Italians can export brilliant artists and create prestigious events for the world to enjoy. January 4, 2013 (Miami): Galleria Ca d’Oro announces it’s first art exhibition of the yearW₃– Women in Art opening at it’s location at the Village of Merrick Park- Ground Floor Suite 1505, 358 San Lorenzo Avenue, Coral Gables, on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6pm-9pm. W₃– Women in Art, curated by Gloria Porcella, celebrates three of the most influential women in arts and culture in Miami. The exhibition continues through January 25, 2013.

The exhibition presents an eclectic mix of photography, portraits and still life paintings of three visionary women who are capturing their world through art. They might come from different countries and backgrounds but their common language is art. And through their art there is a thread that ties them together, a sensitivity, an attention to detail, a delicate stroke, an inner force that is expressed in their art form, with so much vital energy, which is exposed by their use of color, technique and composition.

“This exhibition is an homage to women, women that are not only great professionals but also mothers, wives, and artists. Three is the perfect number and W₃– Women in Art is the title we have chosen to represent them with their works- so different but so full of energy, each of them in a different way” says curator Gloria Porcella.

Mercedes Cisneros, who is a practicing attorney and chairman of the City of Miami Arts & Entertainment Council, will be showcasing her portraits, which are beautifully executed in the classical tradition she has been trained by at Romero-Hidalgo Studios in Miami. “I first do a detailed drawing with silverpoint to avoid fixing the drawing with the medium. Then I use the verdaccio technique for the paintings” says artist Mercedes Cisneros. “The background of my portraits are made of 24K gold leaf and for this process I first apply a layer of red bole onto a smooth gesso board; once totally dried I use a thin layer of rabbit skin glue mixture to adhere the gold leaf. The gold leaf is carefully adhered in small rectangles on the surface.” Her mastery in this method as allowed her to create portraits that transcend time and space.

Gloria Sesana, a Colombian photographer based in Miami, will be showcasing her rich and sensual landscapes, which are full of texture, rich colors and contrast. She is well known for reforming the surfaces if her images by reshaping the form and creating new perspectives. Sesana’s photographs of the sea from her world travels and the images of the Nazca lines of Peru will certainly take the viewer into a fascinating and mysterious journey where everything is peaceful and magical.

The voyage continues through the art of still life painter Federica Zavanella, whom after many years working as an Art Director for an advertising agency in Italy moved to Miami and has dedicated her time in capturing the natural wonders of Florida. The Flying Turtle painted with acrylic on canvas is rich with details, colors and depth, immersing you into a fascinating under water world. Artist Zavanella uses various mediums to execute her art work; watercolor, acrylic, and ceramics.

The Italian Consul General, Alfredo Barattolo, will be present in support of artists and also to celebrate “2013, Year of Italian Culture in the US” which is a yearlong celebration of Italian culture in more than 30 cities. This program will showcase Italy’s art, science, music, design and innovations from the past and future across America.

Miami, FL: Galleria Ca D’oro is pleased to present Endless Time, an exhibition dedicated to the renowned artist and master of surrealism, Salvador Dalí. The exhibition is slated to open November 1, 2012, coinciding with the unveiling of Galleria Ca’d’oro new location at the prestigious Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables. The opening reception will be held on November 15, 2012 from 7pm-10pm.

As an artist, Salvador Dalí needs no introduction. He will always arouse interest, speculation, discussion, and most of all, pleasure. “After the exhibition in Rome in Spring 2012 we wanted to open our new location with a great Master, what best of Dalí’s creative genius transforms into three-dimensional sculpture, bringing forth his most famous and fantastic surrealistic images. Fifteen bronze artworks will be presented to collectors and art lovers for the first time at the Village of Merrick Park with prices starting from 11 thousand dollars.” says Gloria Porcella, curator and owner of Galleria Ca’d’Oro.

The exhibition includes two stunning museum sculptures: the Snail and the Angel, and the iconic melting watch for which Salvador Dali is perhaps best known: the Nobility of Time. The latter sculpture depicts a soft watch draped around a tree; on top of the watch is a crown. “The crown of a watch” usually refers to the mechanical device used to set the hands and wind the timepiece. But time, according to a Dalínian watch, cannot be set. Thus, Dali’s crown represents time’s mastery over man.

Standing in the garden of the Village of Merrick Park is the highlight of the exhibition: Woman Aflame. The monumental sculpture stands an imposing 11.8 feet tall, creating a striking visual impact which will surely leave viewers awestruck.

This enthralling collection offers the public a rare opportunity to experience Dalí’s genius and untamed imagination firsthand, sending each viewer on an adventure into his captivating world of art and Surrealism.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Stratton Foundation for the Cultural arts. Mr. Benjamin Levi, President of the Stratton Foundation, is both an expert on and avid collector of Dalí’s work. With the focus on bronze sculptures, each piece in this collection-assembled over the last forty years-has been carefully chosen to bring various aspects of Dalí’s life’s work to the public eye. These sculptures have been displayed in famous cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Singapore, and Shanghai.

This exciting project has been managed by Gloria Porcella, the gallery’s curator, in collaboration with Manuela Campisi and Melissa Sesana. Campisi and Sesana are currently working together with Galleria Ca’ d’Oro on a public art project in London.

Marilyn Monroe | Tribute to a Female made its successful debut in June 8^th, 2012 at the nineteenth-century Palazzo Wedekind in Piazza Colonna, in Rome, Italy, only a few days after what would have been Marilyn’s 86^th birthday. For this symbolic reason curators Gloria Porcella and Lamberto Petrecca chose the months of June and August for the double launch of the exhibition.

On Thursday April 5^th, the Village of Merrick Park and Galleria Ca` d’Oro will unveil “Time without Time” a solo exhibition of the sculpture of Italian artist Enzo Carnebianca. This exhibition inaugurates a partnership between Merrick Park and Ca` d’Oro for an on-going presentation of public artwork to be enjoyed in the beautiful center garden area.

Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason and Italian Consul General Adolfo Barattolo will be present bringing into focus the vibrant “south side” of Coral Gables. Kerem Kayser, General Manager of Merrick Park, and Gloria Porcella, owner of Galleria Ca` d’Oro, will welcome the artist, Enzo Carnebianca, who is here from Rome for the occasion.

Galleria Ca` d’Oro is an art gallery based in Rome whose Miami Branch is just across Ponce from Merrick Park. Galleria Ca’ d’Oro opened in December 2010 in Miami with the unforgettable Pink Snails. The proximity of the Italian Consulate in the Collection Building on Ponce, and Merrick Park form an alternative area in Coral Gables rich with possibilities for visitors and residents alike.

Italian artist Lorenzo Carnebianca lives and works in Rome. His style has been identified as an intriguing surrealism, his half-divine beings recall both past times and future ones, expressing a knowledge of western cultures reminiscent of folk memories of lost civilizations. He has authored some unforgettable works that can be found in prestigious public and private collections around the world, including the Vatican, which features 4 of his works in their “eternal” collection along with Italian masters Michangelo, Rafaello, Donatello, Canova.

ITALIAN STYLE by MONICA CASALI @ PLANET FIAT

MIAMI, FL, Dec. 29th, 2011 – Gloria Porcella, a longtime Curator and co-owner of Galleria Ca d’Oro in Coral Gables announces she will be hosting an Art Opening at Planet Fiat, which is located at 9975 NW 12th Street, Miami, on January 12, 2012, featuring up and coming artist Monica Casali’s Pop Art, which some describe as eclectic, exuberant and cultural. The event will showcase the New Fiat 500’s along Casali’s “IS IT ART OR A CAR?”

“For me the Fiat Car is a work of art itself. It was my inspiration to do something classic yet fun. Planet Fiat was the perfect place to host my exhibition – after all is it Art or is it just a car?” said Monica Casali who will be arriving from Rome to Miami for exhibition. Claudio Longobucco, Fiat Specialist is excited about the upcoming event and says “to introduce our cars with style and grace to Miami using art as the vehicle is fun and unique!”

Gloria Porcella, host of the event, is just as eager to showcase Monica’s artwork. “I love Monica’s paintings! They are like Italian dresses filled with joyful colors. Her unique European style helps us to understand why the Fiat became so popular in Italy. My favorite Monica-designed Fiat is the red 500, colored like a Ferrari in a gold background!” says an excited Gloria Porcella. To critics, her work is Pop Art reinterpreted, “Italia-Style”.

Currently, Porcella is also exhibiting the multi-tiered project ‘The Wind Doesn’t Have a Plan’ in collaboration with young urban artists Fabio La Fauci and Daniele Sigalot, who are Blue & Joy, which can be seen at Miami Dade College’s historic Freedom Tower until January 4, 2012. This exhibit will be open through the Holidays. The story of Blue & Joy has a deep message of outward emotion vs. inner emotion. Looking at Blue’s outer expression of tears and a broken heart, he is in fact extremely happy inside and shouting for ‘joy.’ While, ironically, Joy who shows a bright smile, is very unhappy and feeling ‘blue.’ “The exhibit demonstrates our daily lives showing an outer face but feeling completely different inside,” says Porcella. The artwork of the Italian artists showcases paintings, sculptures, mosaic, photography and digital media, as well as large paper planes sculpted in aluminum, which can be seen at the Freedom Tower.

Gloria began her career in Italy as a Councilor for the city of Rome and worked with the Environmental Minister, where she developed her magnificent talent and organized a range of significant exhibitions including an important tribute to Pope John Paul II in Rome. Gloria’s passion for art grew from renaissance to contemporary – “I love pop art, the bright colors are so vibrant and full of joy,” said Porcella with a smile. Today, her exhibitions are not only popular in Europe, but they have crossed waters to the United States and landed in New York, Los Angeles and now Miami.

Standing out in Miami’s vibrant art scene, the European curator brought a fabulous display of unforgettable giant pink snails to the city of Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami 2010. Towering at eight-feet tall, the giant pink snails then slowly inched their way to the beautiful city of Coral Gables, where Galleria Ca d’Oro, which has been passed on from generation to generation in the Porcella family, opened its doors during Art Basel Miami in December 2010.

The brightly colored snails symbolize an eco-friendly environment. Made with recyclable plastic, the intention is to make the people of Miami stop, look and think about a healthy, vibrant and bright environment. “Everybody loves the snails. They are most popular among the children,” says Porcella, co-owner of Galleria Ca d’Oro, who worked with the international Cracking Art Group in bringing the famous pink snails to Miami.

This beautiful public display of Italian contemporary art is the inspiration behind Gloria Porcella’s drive to introduce Miami’s art scene to the unknown artistic talent of Italy. “When I see something I love, I want to share it with everyone, and art in public places is the best way to do that,” says the talented Porcella.

Born and raised in Italy under the influence of the Renaissance period, Gloria Porcella, co-owner of Galleria Ca d’Oro, has been in love with art since she was a child. Surrounded by Italian masters Filippo de Pisis and Giorgio de Chirico, who worked with her father, Antonio Porcella and her grandfather, Amadore Porcella, Gloria grew up with a strong background in the art culture.

Remember how to fold a piece of paper into an airplane? And then send it flying across your classmates’ heads to create a moment of fun and laughter? This season, step out and see what’s happening along Brickell Avenue!

Paper Planes, fashioned from sheets of aluminum, line the street, as part of “The Wind doesn’t have a plan,” an exhibition of art in public places designed especially for the people of Miami by artists Blue & Joy.

In addition to the Public Art display, the exhibition includes a display of art in Miami Dade College’s Freedom Tower, and a “mobile” display, FIAT 500 cars wrapped in the artists designs that will zip people back and forth from ArtBasel in Miami Beach, to MDC’s Freedom Tower and down to Brickell and back again.

Galleria Ca’d’Oro is behind the project working with Stella Holmes, Founder of Brickell Gallery Night, Miami Dade College, and the Arts & Entertainment Council of the City of Miami. Galleria Ca’ d’Oro opened in December 2010 in Miami with the debut in the US of the Cracking Art Group and their unforgettable Pink Snails. This year, Galleria Ca’ d’Oro makes Miami the first stop in the USfor European artistic group Blue & Joy.

Blue & Joy is the name of the group, and the name of two characters created by Italians Fabio La Fauci and Daniele Sigalot. They worked at Saatchi & Saatchi in Milan, London and Barcelona until 2008, when they started their own studio in Berlin called “La Pizzeria.” Their urban style, catchy narrative and sense of irony and has caught the eye of collectors as they take Europe by storm.

You can see the Paper Planes on Brickell Avenue at the Espirito Santo Plaza Building, 1395 Brickell Avenue Exhibition at MDC Freedom Tower opens November 22nd and runs to December 16th.

Cloned goats and dogs radiate red and yellow. Folds of dresses in mauve, mint-green and pink suggest movement and exhibit a fanciful frivolity. Sweetlove thrives on the superficial, placing it in razor-sharp contrast to the sententious. Through a number of variations on the same theme he creates friction between the artificial and the substantial, completely obliterating the boundaries between toy and work of art in certain of his works. His is a world in which poodles, giraffes and penguins are rendered into artefacts which unite dadaism, surrealism and pop art in a common post-modernistic synthesis. William Sweetlove was born in 1949 in Ostende, Belgium. Since 2003 he has been a member of the artists’ collective “The Cracking Art Group” in northern Italy. As the physical medium that provides the basis for their works of art, the members use a type of plastic produced via a thermo-chemical reaction in crude oil. This reaction, known as “cracking” is also the origin of the group’s name. In their manifesto the Cracking Art Group call upon their members to spread a vision of the world suffused with elements of irony and ecological awareness.To those, Sweetlove adds the conviction that art must also be an antidote to overconsumption and overproduction. His paintings, sculptures and assemblages are his impressions of existence reproduced in materials such as polyester, animal hides and textiles. William Sweetlove shapes his own world.
